Way Behind
I am way behind on posting. I’ll mostly let the pictures speak for themselves.
Eva and I had a wonderful Christmas. It started with supporting a family of 12 (the family of a little girl in Eva’s class) who were in need. It really made my Christmas to be able to play a part in making Christmas happen for this family. It also allowed me the opportunity to get to know Eva’s teacher better – she’s a beautiful person.
Eva was a “boring” (her word) shepherd in the church Christmas Eve pageant; what she really enjoyed most was the communion service afterwards. I did, too – beautiful way to start our true Christmas celebration. We enjoyed a relaxed dinner with “Uncle” Andrew Christmas Eve. I can’t count the number of Christmases that we have had dinner together. It is a tradition we cherish.
On Christmas morning, Eva had a blast with all her toys from Santa, especially her dollhouse and Lincoln Logs. We enjoyed having our friends, Sarah, Emma, Lisa and Laurie over for Christmas Day brunch.
We had a late Christmas in Ohio with the whole family that was delightful. We spent a day with our cousin Karen in Columbus (Brian, Ben and Liz were all out of town, so we got Karen all to ourselves). Eva quickly decided Karen was her B-F-F, and I might as well not have even been there. We also had a hilarious time completing and reading MadLibs; it is exciting now that Eva is reading more and can suggest words, etc. Our time in Lancaster was wonderful until I got a stomach bug. Thankfully, Stacey picked Eva up from the hotel and kept her for over 24 hours while I rode it out. We returned a day late and jumped right back into life here. It has been a whirlwind ever since.
So, Happy New Year! And since one never knows when I am likely to post again, I better say Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy St. Patrick’s Day, too!
